Disgraced MP Maguire staying in NSW parliament “fails pub test horribly”: Daley

July 16, 2018. Acting NSW Opposition leader Michael Daley, in Sydney, says disgraced NSW MP Daryl Maguire “damned himself and resigned, he admitted his own guilt” and “him staying in parliament fails the pub test horribly”. Mr Daley also calls on NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian to call an audit of all meetings with Mr Maguire, adding he’s not sure if any Labor MPs met with Mr Maguire or Country Garden, the Chinese property developer involved in the corruption scandal – “I’m not making any assumptions today”. A secret recording played at the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) on Friday revealed Mr Maguire discussing the size of his cut from the multi-million dollar sale of a Sydney property.
